License & Tiers
Beta reality check. During the public Beta, License v2 activation is bypassed. Everyone runs as Freemium. No signup, no key, no payment.
Pay-tier features are visible in the UI with a Pay Feature badge but they are disabled. They become accessible at the V1.0 release.
The two tiers — at a glance
| Capability | Free | Pay |
|---|---|---|
| Core QTO workflow (Setup, Tag, Compute, Report) | ✓ | ✓ |
| Excel computo flat export (Power BI ready) | ✓ | ✓ |
| XPWE export (PriMus interchange) | ✗ | ✓ |
| Atomic Erase — Shared Parameters step | ✗ | ✓ |
| QTOAI conversational assistant (V1+) | ✗ | ✓ |
| QTOValidate validation pipeline (V2+) | ✗ | ✓ |
| International BoQ formats — IFC, GAEB, BC3 (V3+) | ✗ | ✓ |
Free tier — what you get
Free is a complete workflow, not a trial. There is no time limit, no project cap, no watermark.
- QTOSetup — initialize the QTO data structure on any Revit project.
- QTOMappings — connect catalog items to Revit element types.
- QTOTag — instance-level tagging from the catalog.
- QTOCompute — geometry-driven quantity computation.
- QTOReport — health check + read-only Excel export.
- Excel computo flat export (works directly with Power BI).
Free works for studios that produce BoQs for internal estimation. Pay adds the delivery surface for external workflows — handover to estimators in PriMus, AI-assisted matching, third-party validation, multi-format international deliverables.
Pay tier — what unlocks at V1.0
- XPWE export — direct PriMus integration via the standard XPWE interchange format.
- Atomic Erase Shared Parameters step — clean removal of QTO shared parameters in one transaction.
- QTOAI — conversational catalog-item matching, the V1.0 marquee feature.
How activation will work at V1.0
At V1.0, Pay-tier users activate the add-in by entering a license file generated against their account. Activation is per-user (not per-machine), Windows DPAPI-protected, and works offline after first activation.
Beta users who want to be first to know when V1.0 ships can subscribe to the changelog → or check the About dialog inside the add-in for the release-notes link.
