QTOCompute Freemium
QTOCompute calculates quantities from element geometry, applies them to the tagged catalog items, and writes the results back into the QTO data structure.
Prerequisites
- QTOSetup must have run on the active project.
- At least one element must be tagged (via QTOMappings or QTOTag).
How to run
On the AEC.codes ribbon tab, click QTOCompute.
UI walkthrough
- Scope picker — entire model, active phase, or current selection.
- Run — start computation; progress is shown per category.
- Summary — totals by unit of measure and category.
What happens
For each tagged element, QTOCompute reads the catalog item's unit of measure and applies the matching geometric formula:
- m³ — solid volume from the element's geometry.
- m² — surface area (face area, footprint, or wall surface depending on category).
- m — length (centerline for linear elements).
- cad / nr — element count.
Computed quantities are written to both Extensible Storage and the mirror Shared Parameters, making them visible in Revit schedules and IFC export.
